Short-term support delivers long-term gains.
To aid in the mental health crisis that continues to impact children and families, funds raised by the Parenting for the Present Foundation provide access to holistic mental health care for children and teens in underserved communities across all faiths and backgrounds.
Funding from our generous donors has enabled us to make significant strides in providing crucial therapeutic services and executive function training to the students at The King’s Academy and St. Phillips School and Community Center, two schools in the southern part of Dallas. We provide diagnostic evaluations for students with learning differences or social/emotional difficulties. Without understanding the diagnostic reasons these children struggle academically and emotionally, teachers and parents are left without the targeted tools to meet the needs of the students.
In 2023, we expanded services at The King’s Academy to include psychoeducational evaluations for a few of their students. Post evaluation, clinicians have worked with teachers and parents separately, interpreting their findings and implementing needed therapies. These students’ cases were complicated due additional stress and trauma related to physical and situational circumstances, making it difficult to make headway with limited support. The families and faculty have felt empowered as they have used our evaluations to provide targeted intervention to best address and support the student’s needs in the classroom and at home.
As we receive additional funding, we will provide psychoeducation assessments to more children in the program, targeting the needs of every child who needs additional support. We’ll implement more programs, including Executive Function training, group therapy, social skills training, and summer camp programs to further support the students and families.
The transformations we have witnessed in the lives of these young individuals have been truly remarkable, and we are encouraged by the lasting impact this work has had on their journey toward mental wellness. When you donate, you’re contributing to improving the social lives and educational journey of these students. Give today and make an immediate impact!
